Wind Proof vs Arctic

What exactly is the differance between these two smocks?

Hi I am no expert but the Arctic is made of a softer material, Egyptian Cotton I believe where as the standard issue smock is a mix blend, slightly stiffer, more rigid. The Arctic also has different pockets (slightly) on the left, the pen holder is bigger and on the right arm there is the 'dressing pouch'. There could be other differences... But these are the ones that stick out to me. I acquired a brand new Arctic in the yellowy DPM, I thought they stopped making them and just issuing the standard Windproof but maybe not!!

Apart from some minor differences the main and biggest difference is the Arctic Smock has a larger wired hood.

Materials are the same. Arctic has the previously mentioned large hood with a wire and all around visor. The Artci one also had a button closing rank tab on front and rear. The 'SAS' smock has a much tidier hood. It is curved . The Arctic one has a weird construction.

The wire is usually removed pretty quickly as it is a real pain and obsures vision. The rear rank tab was also usually removed or it gave you a real rub when tabbing with a bergan on.
