Re: DPCU - The original multi cam?
Yes it has been said before, i herd on the rumor mill that the us was seeking use of dpcu colours and or pattern for there army i think but our head shed said no because they wanted it to be australian only.
Dont know how true that was it was a rumor going around.
and have seen photos of US SF using dpcu clothing in afghan because of how well it worked in the green zone

Re: DPCU - The original multi cam?
US Soecial Forces types have worn DPDU as well. When I was in basic training, one of the classrooms with an AFSOC theme (each classroom in the squadron complex was themed differently) had framed photos of special forces members wearing DPDU in Afghanistan, not sure the mission or timeframe.

Hi Chris,
I don't have any of those photos... I can ask around, some collector friends of mine have numerous photos saved on their computers that may include them.

Re: DPCU - The original multi cam?
In uruzghan we had navy seal teams, us green berets operating in base with us and same ao and when acu came out till the full inception of multicam they must have traded with our sf or our reg guys at the bases, it wasn't a wide spead use thing I think.

Notice they are all wearing US IR flags on their shoulders, and no rising suns!

Re: DPCU - The original multi cam?
Two weeks ago I attended a Regimental Dinner where the RSM of the Army was a guest. He gave a talk on new changes in Army dress on the horizon and I was surprised to learn that Auscam may be given the flick! He stated that tests had been conducted between 4 patterns including Auscam and Multicam where the known patterns came in the bottom two.
Other revelations he dropped were that everyone will be issued a 'para smock' (his words) - some type of combat smock that will form part of a new cold weather system. We will also be getting new combat boots but will still be allowed to purchase approved private purchase boots for the forseeable future.
I guess all this shiny new kit on the way will keep me in for just a few more years of sufferance ...

Re: DPCU - The original multi cam?
Nice info, I was swapping my old cold weather jacket the other day and I was told a new cold weather system was coming in and I got given the dpcu hard jacket, they said that it will come in soon!

Re: DPCU - The original multi cam?
Unfortunately I don't think so - not forum specific anyway. All you can do is mark it with some sort of watermark.
