Experimentel 4 tone Desert Sniper Smock??

Some of the experimental smocks could well be field modified in country. I think what it is they deal in DPM and when they get say an American Marpat jacket its, hey this is different and it must be experimental.

Without tags, detailed photos or explanations then I wouldn't just on something just tagged experimental unless abviouse like camo print.

Nice pic....do you know the date? Interesting...looking at all the Desert DPM around him and the guy in front is wearing by the looks of it, a commercial Desert smock (thought at first it was a temperate smock), I can only presume its a private purchase?

Hi Lee,The photo taken in February 12th 2003 before OP telic, The desert smock may be a commercial version such as SASS.

2003...wow, I thought it was earlier!!! Great pic Octoberrust!! I really want one of these 4 tone windproofs...I suppose I will just after wait and see if one surfaces on eBay as I can't seem to find one commercially...

Whatever the guy in front is wearing,if its a windproof smock it doesnt appear to have knitted cuffs.

That's interesting more Brown's in the smock, the above seems more darker (hope it makes sense!)...loving all the four tones!!! Awesome!!

Mine is same as the soldiers in the photo , mine is made from very heavyweight twill cloth. The sass smocks usually use lightweight cloth in light weave windproof or ripstop.

Also could be the sass one has been sun bleached or washed a million times ??

I have a suit in the 4 colour desert DPM made by SASS. It is brand new and is the same as the one in Octoberrust's photo. At the time these were made, I believe that they were intended for one of the middle East states which was still using this pattern based on the old British Army 4 colour pattern.

Octoberrust, excellent picture indeed! The colors, to me, are pretty much spot on for Bahrain. Even if the smocks weren't made for their forces, perhaps they had leftover cloth. For profit companies like opportunities to repurpose cloth that someone else has paid for
