I've 2 of these, used as windproof smock in Algeria, there are several pics showing the smock worn by 13 RDP the Régiment des Dragons Parachutistes which was an Armoured Unit in Algeria and not used in a LRRP as it is nowaday
Thanks Didier, not that its crucial but would it be possible please for you to post a pic of what the correct cords(and toggles if used)should look like to see if I can replace the ones on my smock.
I have a French Mountain Anorak/Smock The label has the following info: Pauwels Paris,4-61 Have a few crappy photos, but I think they are clear enough to show the 3 cords that are original to the piece.
I have checked for markings similar to the ink stampings on your smock but found none. There is a label at the nape of the smock similar to yours that has the following info: 96-100 with a C under the numbers.
I am curious to know if your smock has a label in the left pocket.
Hello friends - very interesting pieces. I interested very much in this article. But little information. I to have fortune of possessing a couple of them in my collection. And I want to share with you. I have the first one thanks to Gilles, he bought it for me on ebay france. and sent me. was published as: blouson+de+pluie+armee+francaise+indo+algerie is this:
The second one I have, thanks to the brothers Matz and is a mountain parka, reversible. white on the interior. but keep the same cut. with a label inside lower left pocket
On the other hand and as a curiosity the Argentine army in the seventies use a copy of this parka for mountain troops. and also included a rebersible pants.
Nice collection of Olive pieces. Love the Argentine versions, and the trousers are awesome. The reversible capabilities of these great garments make them even more awesome and versatile. Very nice. Thanks for posting..
The French reenactor photo is very cool; the Lizard trousers look great with the Olive smock.
