My Portuguese M1917 helmet from the Great War, unfortunately I just have the shell. This one was repainted for the DCT civil defense:

Re: Portuguese uniform collection
Very nice - is the M1917 US made, or British made? When did Portugal use these?

Re: Portuguese uniform collection
The Portuguese M1917 its the same as the Brodie MkI. It was acquired in 1917 hence its designation and was used by the Portuguese CEP in Flanders during the Great War. These helmets served along with the M1916 model in the Army until the advent of the m/940 helmet coming into service from 1940.
After seeing front line service the helmets passed to the Portuguese Legion (kind of a fascist militia during the dictatorship) and to the DCT Civil Defense.

Here you can see the Portuguese uniform from the Great War, it remained more or less unchanged until late thirties/early forties:

Re: Portuguese uniform collection
Nice going with the arid set. Are these still almost impossible to find? I have not been paying attention lately because when I do find a set the seller wants far too much money. So I continue to wait

Comparison between the Arid combat cap used by the Portuguese Marines and the cap used by the Portuguese Air Force.
The one from the Marines was made by MOVEQUIPA, its base color its a bit darker and the ripstop net its dark, its 80% cotton and 20% polyester. The one from the Air Force was made by LOUSAFIL, has lighter base color, the ripstop net its white, has slightly darker brown and its 85% cotton and 15% polyester.

Re: Portuguese uniform collection
The Portuguese nº3 Uniform was the working uniform for many years. Its first versions were issued with the m/964 uniform and had some variations during its service time. During the Serviço Militar Obrigatório (national service) this uniform was the most used by the Army during recruit and maneuvers so in spite of being classified as a working uniform it was also in fact a combat uniform.
This cap belongs to the interior flap version and was issued until about 2003.
