    nice M42/79 with camo cover

    I put a French salad type cover on mine , it looks like leaves, I dont know if the Spanish ever used it? Cool

    I remember in the 1980s, when I was a kid, these helmets were in every surplus shop. Now they are not so easy to find anymore... Back in the day, many of these helmets were ruined by folks who wanted to 'convert' them into a German helmet.

    yes, back in the 1980's I use to see these all the time at the gun shows, they also had the earlier models like the Modelo 1926, I wish I kept it, it was only $20

    now the supply seems to have dried up , not as common as they use to be, I use to hear people at the show talking about repainting it black and adding SS decals to make a fake nazi helmet.

    I bought one from a surplus shop in the early 1990s that looks very similar to Gulf91's. I wish I had also had the foresight to save a few other examples, like the ones with the all-leather liners.
