    I will start with some early ones from the Second World War.

    I have seen this one referred to as the 'borsa tattica'; sadly, my example is missing the shoulder straps/suspenders.

    iv had one such..it has a convertible single strap that doubles as backpack
    shoulder suspenders when needed

    Yes I think that strap is difficult to find on the loose.

    This one I have seen in photographs with airborne troops. The design is somewhat complex - there is one flap that covers the main compartment, and and then another large flap that goes over top, maybe to hold a blanket or sleeping bag. Maybe the two heavy snap-hooks are used for attachment to a parachute harness.

    very interesting!!! those Italians have their own unique National designs...they dont copy American gear like the Greeks did...

    Well, not at first, but eventually by the 1990s they more or less copied the US ALICE gear. But I agree, a lot of the Italian designs are pretty distinctive...
