Here you have pics of the Gen II liner!

Excellent many thanks for this, I am more knowledgeable about the liner now!

It has some similarities to the British GS mk6 ,cool thanks for the link!

Hi Thunderchild, very nice Para lid, with provenance ,which even better!

I see this example has what appears to be a MK6 chinstrap fitted, I have seen these fitted before to Para lids, and it makes sense as they are easier to fit and remove than the original, very cool!

I look forward to seeing more of your cool pick-ups!

Any ideas on this Nato M1 please?

The rim on the shell is welded a bit crudely, liner has no markings or stamps at all and the elastic foliage band has 3 small cloth loops to the rear?

    Danish-Dutch??

many thanks gulf on the para lid info the dpm looks to be 85 pattern so would it be manufactured around that time also it has extra holes drilled into the shell above the chinstrap terminations possibly for nightvision do you think or something else ,and nice spanish helmet with earlier liner ,did it come with the francoist eagle device,my example looks to have brass liner rivits from what paint exposure there is cheers

gulf i think you have nailed this one as a danish m48 but why the blue liner i think civil defence were a grey colour so do you think royal danish airforce? also the chinstraps look to have been upgraded with the us spec post 75 chinstraps found on the last batches of the m1

    Youre very welcome.

If you could be bothered and want to date the helmet you could remove the liner as these helmets usually have but are often missing, makers labels on both the liner itself and the shell.

Regarding the holes,I have a Para helmet which is a bit unique(or at least to me)in that it has crudely made holes for the attachment of Riot or EOD visor clips so could well be one of those?

Also another easy way of IDing if a Para helmet is an older or later one is that the early shells were smooth and the later ones have a slightly textured finish.

Unfortunately no badge with the Spanish helmet. Did have a badged example but sold it a few years back.

The liner rivets appear to be pained green so wonder if the liner was green at one stage? Also noticed the late US chinstraps, strange on a Nato M1?

i agree gulf ,very interesting euro clone m1 , we can only speculate to its original use the triple tied band is a new one on me , now back to the modello z ,do you have a rough idea of the vintage ,one annoying thing about spanish helmets is the lack of stamps indicating the year of manufacture ,as its designated the m42 i can only conclude made between 1942 and at latest 1979 up untill the new style liner configuration ,thanks again for the clues to identifying the para lids year of manufacture  ,i honestly didnt know ,so thanks

I agree about the Spanish helmet and lack of stamps etc so not sure of exact vintage.

While not desperate for one,if anyone has a spare suitable cheap badge for the Spanish helmet or knows of a source that would be great.

Cheers Gary, the Danish helmet is of no use to me so is available if anybody fancies it(came with some other items that I am keeping.

There is a mention of the 3 fabric loops on the foliage band here--

    http://www.cascoscoleccion.com/dinamarc/dan48.htm

Also it appears that the Danes did indeed use the late type US chinstrap as is on my helmet on their helmets as well--

Nice Gary, notice that the Bulgarian helmets(all styles) are selling dirt cheap on Ebay UK these days.

Remember many moons ago when I was collecting ONLY helmets that they were hard to come by in the UK and expensive.
