Also it appears that the Danes did indeed use the late type US chinstrap as is on my helmet on their helmets as well--

Inside top/crown of the helmet has a padded leather section that doesnt appear to be attached to anything.

    Very nice model 38 Gulf.

The liner appears to the correct model ,but in my opinion is not original to the shell, the crown pad is an unusual addition, but seems a plausible customisation.

Very nice piece, these seem to collecting high prices lately.

Maybe it was de-nazified to keep ebay happy LOL

Hi Gulf, yeah apart from the missing decal,it's in very good nick , mind you that's probably because it was never used in any conflicts I guess!

i see easy gee and gulf are playing snap with ww2 civil defence helmets Very Happy  the inner crown leather section is more reminicent of later post war use say for fire service but normally these have a liner system with leather arrowed tabs for adding a rear neck guard ,also ,the denazified decal would have also been removed post war for obvious reasons ,strangely though all the post war luftschutz helmets ive seen for use post war are repainted black ,so its more likely somebody has just added this bit in place for what ever reason ,and on gary's us civil defence i can agree its genuine ww2 issue ,im led to believe post war examples from the 50's tend to have no office of civil defence govt stamp

Hmm,I must admit I am new to this German WW2 non cambat helmet lark but from what I can gather from various collector websites and the couple of books I have on the subject that the liner is correct,or of the correct type as a couple of different types were used but none Im yet to see with the neck guard, that I believe was more of a M34 type addition as I am led to believe is the padded top pad-correct WW2 vintage, not at the time it was made original to the helmet but maybe added by its original WW2 owner for added comfort or just something added by the previous owner/collector?

Noticed lately that a batch of these have surfaced on Ebay UK together(all from different sellers).

nice helmet gulf ,i notice the earlier 3 point chinstrap as oposed to the m7's 5 point ,i take it this is the NP Aerospace ac 900 the off the shelf version of the mk7 outwardly the shell screams mk7 apart from the different internals and the lack of sand paint
