No I don't Crying or Very sad unfortunately I don't have any infos about it.
I do have the same poncho in my collection, but I don't know if it was issued or not. But personally I don't remember any photos with it...maybe because russian soldiers use already a lot of rainsuits and waterproof equipment..so, maybe, poncho aren't so necessary.

Well, that might be the point.
Plus they are imho quite uncomfortable to wear.

Yes, you are right, I used the shoulder pad of my tunic, it was mismatched and I got a replacement piece, so this was the best solution. Smile

What kind of Urban set? Recent SPLAV production or the "real deal"?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to see some pictures of your items. Wink

Are the Splav sets hard to come by, or are they easy to come by? Im starting to second guess my purchase. LOL

Ive never seen this camo up close and in person before. My camera died while taking a few pics, Ill try and post some later.

Some more input of SMK items, I managed to track down a nice lot of these in the meantime.

Urban SMK suit, made by NPO-SM in the early 90's. The jacket's cut is the same as on my greenish SMK jacket.

Urban SMK Kaskad-1 vest, made by NPO-SM.

Urban SMK early Kaskad vest in very light coloration, made by NPO-SM. Smile

Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 UrbanSMKKaskad

I call it the boss of jackets, made by NPO-SM in SMK pattern with real lamb wool liner on the inside, also NPO-SM tag on the liner, so nothing that has been attached afterwards! HUGE and VERY comfortable!

    Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 SMKWinterJacket4
    Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 Smkjacketinsiden4mlo

Early 90's MVD SMK jacket with factory-attached reflectors, probably for night combat. See the winter coverall version on this one a bit down! Quite rare I guess. Smile

    Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 SMKWinterJacket3

Until 5 days ago this was the holy grail of SMK items for me, I couldn't find any of these since I started collecting. Now I even managed to find one that is in NEW condition and size 58! SMK forest cap

Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 SMKCap

Funny SMK carrying bag, completely foldable.
I have no idea for what these have been made.
The pattern matches my Shturm-VV armor, so I guess it has been made by the same factory.

Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 SMKBag

Early 90's MVD winter coverall in SMK forest coloration with factory attached reflectors.
Bought in St.Petersburg in 1993, so I guess it is one VERY early SMK item. Smile
I had one of these without the reflectors and with a different inner liner, but sold it some years ago.
I always regret having done this, so I'm more than happy to have this one in my hands now!

Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 Smkwintercoverallpbuvk

The winter coverall came with this funny SMK backpack, the coverall fits in perfectly.

    Russian "SMK' camouflage - Page 3 Smkbackpacklw7t3

Hopefully I find some more of these awesome SMK items. Smile

Yes it's very hard to find.
This stuff was one of the "typical" transition equipment that characterized the '90s.
Generally this stuff was quite terrible (bad quality, noisy, colors faded..) and it has been highly used during all conflicts of that period. It means that this gear was no longer produced, a lot of this stuff didn't come back "intact" from the war....other pieces were returned to the warehouses of the barracks.....and those pieces that are still alive belong to former soldiers, who use them for hunting, fishing, and they simply don't know the value of that clothing.
Also, Russia is very very closed, there's still no fluent market and exchange of these items....and it makes harder every researches.
Anyway nothing is impossible, but it's necessary a BIG and INTENSIVE work into russian sites, forums, networks, etc...

Here some photos of color variations of this great pattern:

Found a strange urban SMK uniform, it has none of the usual features present in the MVD SMK uniforms described by Desmond, starting from the layout, to the buttons to the pattern itself.. It is similar to the one presented by Eric (ex-Mike Powlen suit), except that this example has a liner in the jacket.

While strictly not SMK, this might by an evolutionary offshoot of those early nylon winter uniforms. Made in 2000 for the Volgograd MVD, acquired through official government channels as per specs.

Minus the imitation fur liner; the internal holster is visible here, it is nylon-lined for water-proofing and has a lanyard:
