    I think there was a jigsaw pattern used by belgum in the 50's

    Ok - its looking like a Belgian Para Smock but might be a rarity bearing in mind the half zip ?

    Not common, but not rare. Denison style smocks were made starting in the late 1960s, IIRC, through the 1980s. Not made in 1950s or later than 1980s (a different type appeared in early 1990s for a few years and was dropped). Since there appears to be no tag I don't think it's possible to date this example specifically. However, I think chances are it is from the 1970s or early 1980s.

    I'd peg the value at around $70-$90 these days if it still has the beaver tail and is in otherwise good condition.
