Russian Reed-like oversuit

Hey guys,

I got offered this suit, but I don't know anything about it.

The pattern differs from the normal Reed one alot, have you ever seen such a thing?

Really nothing? The guy is asking US$100 for it.
I'm still not sure wether is should take it or not.

I like it ... but purely from an aesthetic viewpoint. I notice there are reinforcement patches on the knees and elbows but no (apparent)pockets at all ... Is this common for modern russian jumpsuits? I guess if it was for commercial there might be pockets everywhere ... *shrug*

I guess if I was in your shoes, and I had $100 to spare - I'd take a punt at it.

I just dont know , the Russians come out with a new camo every 10 minutes , so it could be something very cool , even if commercial its probably worth the $100,I would take a chance on it .

Doesn't look like any of the official MVD colours in this pattern, but then that could be due to the fact that it is printed on a fully synthetic water-repellent material.

Ask for labels.

I'm with filupe -- based on appearance alone it's pretty cool. It could be a one-off commercial piece or something new, who knows? If you decide on it, be sure to post some good photos!

Looks commercial to me. Colors don't seem to match Reed ones. But like guys said if you can go for it!

With Russian camouflage the answer is always "yes". Doesn't matter what the question is!

$100 is pretty high for something that could be for sale next week on eBay for $45 in any size you want. Be cautious.

I also have the net-type Boonie, but in Reed pattern.
Do you still have the vest and hat?

As a set this would look okay, but as a spare overall I'm not going to pay 100USD for it.
I'll try to negotiate a bit.

Cool! I forgot that Belarus uses some patterns very similar to Russia, but with different tailoring. This makes total sense now.

But when has anyone on this forum argued against buying a rare piece of camouflaged kit, despite unsure origin or pattern?

I took your advices and bought the suit, it is very well made and comes with a carrying bag for storage.
