I had been thinking about breaking a pattern down into it's individual colors for a while, to better "see" the pattern.  I finally tried it.  This is from a close-up photo of one of my uniforms.  See the results below.

A challenge:  Can you identify the pattern by it's separate colors?  This is not a real common pattern.  I'll post the full pattern and answer later in the week.

Interesting technique of dividing the pattern into colors; is it done with Photoshop or Illustrator?

May it be South Korean early desert pattern, or pre-digital Mongolian Borderguard?

Oh, and will one win said piece of camo off of you? Laughing

Actually, it was done with "GIMP 2" a free photo editor that mimics Photoshop.

Good guesses, but you are "cold" as the guessing game goes.

That would actually be a good prize for guessing correctly (but no, you won't win it from me!)  Very Happy

Good guess Martin - that is it!  Your website lists it as being used by the Organization of African Unity, and I bought my uniform (and have seen information confirming this) with the understanding that it has been used by the Central African Republic as well.  I have a photo of the full uniform posted under the African section.

Thanks to everyone for viewing the post and for making guesses.  I may try this type of posting again in the future.

Here is the entire pattern (the "heart" opening in the black color part of the pattern at the upper left part of the photo is the really distinguishing feature):

I've kept this pattern in the "Unknown" category as there are several still unconfirmed uses:
    1. Central African Republic including OAU use (as you mention)
    2. OAU use by other African nations
    3. Pakistani use

    http://www.camopedia.org/index.php?title=Central_African_Republic
    http://www.camopedia.org/index.php?title=Pakistan

The uniforms were certainly made in Pakistan as the labels show.

Still a bit of a mystery uniform for me.

Ok, here's another challenge for all - ID this pattern with the colours removed:

When you take the colours out, that pattern looks similar to the Cuban grey lizard.

Even if I get it wrong, this game us still fun! The lizard pattern does indeed resemble cuban with the colors removed. However, I think that I am going to go with Greek lizard, the flare on those lizard stripes is a little to broad for cuban or serbian, I believe. Of course, it could be any number of those african lizard patterns.

Funny, if it weren't for that fourth lime green color, I would guess Yugoslavian Branches. As it is, the lack of a black color should be a dead giveaway, but this is pretty hard. How about Hungarian "Leaf" camo?
