usually the soldiers carried one double mag pouch; one canteen ( I have one in the mail, when it arrives, I'll post my web (almost) complete webgear); first aid kit and bayonet (Brazilian fn fal bayonets are virtually impossible to find for sale, because the army keeps them all())
but I didn't see any picture or find any info about the mess kit pouch, I'm quite sure that they carried and they current carry in the backpack
today bags are ALICE pack and variations
