my Estonian stuff Empty my Estonian stuff

    Post by dynamo.alex Mon Apr 04, 2016 8:16 am

The first ever Estonian piece in my live ... a very nice and comfy Jacket - the one with the sleeve pocket on the left sleeve and the "flap - held by two buttons" on the right sleeve - all front pockets close by the means of buttons ...

    Very nice Alex!
From what I heard that particular insignia attachment system was short lived, as well as having both epaulets and the front rank strap, before the epaulets were removed.
So that makes your coat a fairly rare one!

Yes, that is a very rare jacket. It's been dated to no later than 1998, could be a little earlier. It seems to be the first type of what I think of as the 2nd uniform type. The first had pleated pockets, the second smooth.

Definitely a good reference photo. Have never seen photos of this rarer version in use.

Great score Alex, and even better that you have matching trousers..

If you need headgear, just PM me..

Had another photo from Merk of one of them. This one does not have epaulets.

Definitely finding some good reference photos, THN !!

Amazing to see so many slightly different variations there are in this pattern.

Alex, you are quite welcome, I'm ready when you are, my friend..

thanks Alex. I am very happy about it, too. Yes absolutely, I am still hunting for some patches and a matching cap, however the latter might be sorted with the help of Sal. Wink

Good find! It's tough to match these uniforms as the trousers and jackets are not interchangeable. In this case the material is highly synthetic while the other ones have more cotton.

Thank you Steve. And yes, fact. my trousers and the shirt are absolutely matching in terms of fabric material. It was a long hunt, it took me almost 2 years to find these pants.

    Alex,

Very nice. One of the coolest TTsKO type, if not the coolest..

Always great to find matching pieces; something not always possible..

These pants and shirt are looking for mates..

Factory variations + time in the field = difficulty making matches!

As it happens, earlier today I "found" a box of orphan Estonian stuff. Sadly, my Estonian source hasn't turned up much in the past year so I'm thinking they will remain orphans.

I do have some spare patches, but my orphans are staying with me as they are all "interesting" Very Happy Probably the rarest of the pieces is ripstop trousers. I've only seen the one I have and never seen the jacket. Don't think I ever will Sad
