Cool indeed. No idea what it might be used for as I can't recall seeing a red armband before (with any nation). White is common for non field use since it is visible at night. Camo and solid OD/OG/Gray/etc. are also what one would expect for field use. Maybe for training (Red for one side, Blue for another?).

The Hungarians use a Red arm band for barracks duties .
