Modified M1923 Colt magazine pouch

This came with a load of other ABL stuff.

It appears to be a US Colt .45 M1923 Magazine pouch modified by stretching the flap with Jigsaw camo material.
still retains the press stud for the Colt Belt.

I am using it to hold two 20 Round extended HiPower Magazines.
I don't know that this is why this kit was modified, It is just my guess because they seem to fit.

Is there any record of Belgian troops using the extended 20 round magazines? Can anyone offer a better expalnation has to why this pouch has been "Cut and Shut"

This is a real mystery - the only clue might be to guess at the vintage of the jigsaw cloth, as that would tell us the earliest point at which this might have been done.
