Had this for awhile, came with a Gebirgsjager M43, seller didn't know what it was either.
Khaki color, greenish interior, copperish headband. No remains of any tags, stamps, or markings of any kind, or any insignia having been attached.
I can't match it to any wartime German M43, none have this single button ear flaps with this interior.
VERY used, rear of the ear flaps are almost ripped in half at the seam, the bill is broken in the middle, and has lost all rigidity and shape.
From people I've asked have proposed a possible post-war unusual repro, some West German model, or possibly South African.
