Why did Austria decide to move from camouflaged uniforms to solid colours? Was there any type of reason behind this? Don't get me wrong, those solid khakis look awesome, but I just wondered why they abandoned camouflage fatigues for their armed forces.

Well, in 1975 a new uniform was introduced. I don't know why they moved back to solid colors but I can tell you what I've heard:
Nowadays Austrian soldiers are well known for their plain uniforms.(deployed soldiers)
There are no plans to replace the tan/OD uniform for regular soldiers AFAIK. Austrian troops also had used US desert pattern but stopped wearing it because they were mistaken for Americans.

I think they will only be used in the Jagdkommando (SF unit).
