    Cool piece.

The aircraft has a tail hook...So most likely it represents a naval aircraft..

The Latin translated to English is " dont let the bastards get you down " ..

non illicitum carborundum , appears to be a not often used version of the mock Latin phrase normally quoted as "non illegitimi carborundum" which is supposed to translate to don't let the bastards grind you down".  The fact that it is Illicitum rather than illegitimi or illigitimum is rather odd.

The phrase is of course not real Latin.  It suggests to me RAF banter,  but I could be wrong.  No clue at the moment as to the aircraft.

The date is presented as Day month year so again this suggests British, rather than US......
