Finnish late 1980s loadout

My loadout of a Finnish soldier from late 1980s serving in "Uudenmaan prikaati" ("Nylands brigad”).





Loadout consists of:
Helmet M/60 with M/62 camo hood
M/62 camo jacket and trousers
Under the jacket: Grey field shirt (”peltipaita”) and white undershirt
Laced boots M/75 and grey socks
Leather gloves
Webbing M/60 fully packed:
-Left pouch: Tucked rain cape (camo)
-Right pouch: Three magazines for RK 62 (Finnish made), water bottle (metal bottle in canvas pocket)
-Rolled greatcoat M/65
-Shovel
-Cleaning kit for RK 62
-Knife/”sissipuukko”, functions also as bayonet for RK 62 (I believe it is not an issue item but something the soldier could purchase and wear)
-Utility pouch (same design as used during WW2), contained the mess tin and spork (Some units stored the spork in jacket pocket

Forgot to mention: deactivated RK62 assault rifle

Winter cap (”Sissipipo”) M/83(I think...) worn under the helmet,

Uniform M/83 with green collar tabs, rifleman patch on the arm and Uudenmaan prikaati collar tabs
M65 cap (two were issued)
Grey belt M/83
Shirt M/83
Grey tie
Green scarf (infantry) for parade
Black issued shoes (towerlogo inside)
Black issued socks (bought from SAkauppa that sell directly surplus from Finnish army)

Winter jacket M/83 with rifleman patch
Winter cap M/39 (two were issued)
Raincoat M/83
Bag when on leave

Underwear:
Field shirt (”peltipaita)
Socks
Undershirt

Thanks! It is from Tourula-factory, stamped 1985. I bought it from a gun smith whom had worked for Valmet and recieved this factory-deactivated gun directly from the factory. Therefore the rifle has sadly not been used by the Finnish defence force and has no SA-stamp (SA= ”Suomen armeija” = Finnish army). Still it is the crown jewel of my collection.

That's quite a piece you have there; congratulations on a great collection.

Cant be many factory deactivated early Valmet rifles in public hands.  It is a great piece to collect and I can see why it's your crown jewel.  

Most people dont know Valmet receivers were basically copied by IMI (Israel Military Industry) to come up with the very successful Galil series.

Valmet 7,62 RK 62 with accessories:
Bayonet with scabbard
Cleaningrod in two parts
Two pieces for oiling and cleaning barrell (the white stuff is put on one of them for cleaning the barrelll)
Yellow blank firing adapter
Oilbottle
Sight-adjuster
Magazines (three were issued). Finnish magazines differ from other AK mags with the rectangel attached on the borrom.

Very nice, a Finnish loadout is on my to do list as well, but finding any fieldgear is pretty damn hard!

This guy used to have them for sale: https://www.swat.fi/ but I think he sold them out during the summer.
A couple of times there has been for sale in Finnish auction site https://www.huuto.net/haku/sort/newest/category/208 but they are very rare.

Thank you! I must say that your loadouts on this page are the most impressive I have seen outside a museums!

Pair of ski poles (1980)
Pair of fasteners for Finnish boots to the skis

More great stuff. Do you know of any places that are selling the Finnish webbing these days?
