Re: Iraqi marpat???
Cool pic. I've had difficulty stumbling onto pics which show good details up close and without obstructions. I have one of these uniforms, unissued, however I'm not 100% it's actual issue. Mine appears to be identical to the one in this picture and it does have the Iraqi flag embedded in the pattern, so for now I'm presuming it is. Only difference I spot is the velcro is green on mine vs. khaki on the one pictured above.
I've seen pictures of the Iraqis using 4 types of digital:
1. similar to MARPAT
2. Brown/tan based (I only have one picture of this)
3. similar to colors of Jordanian (the one with greens in it, not the desert type)
4. various shades of blues (police special forces)
The underlying pattern appears to be the same, but it's extremely hard to tell. The cut, also, appears to be the same... but again with such limited numbers of photos and the poor display of details... that's just a guess. At least I've seen nothing inconsistent which would suggest different patterns (shapes) and uniform cuts.
#3 and #4 appear to be the most common types.

Re: Iraqi marpat???
Chris,
Well, it makes sense that it's police now that I think about it. We know they have an urban digital pattern, and I'm pretty sure they wear the Jordanian knockoff desert digital. This would be keeping in theme.

Re: Iraqi marpat???
Great pic Chris! They've been moving so many types of uniforms in and out of service it can make my head spin
Perhaps the Digital stuff is used by more specialized forces and the Woodland more generalized? Or perhaps it is just unit based? Or perhaps there is no sense to it

Re: Iraqi marpat???
I think the correct term here is "outstanding photos!" Looks fairly similar to Kuwaiti digital desert, but with different colors.

Re: Iraqi marpat???
My observation, most MP/SWAT using "urbant camo"( blue/black/grey...),"multicam" officiers and senior NCO. PVT I saw had DCU, "Chocolate chips" camo. I guess, it's all depends on how much $$$,they have

Re: Iraqi marpat???
There are sets of Chinese-manufacture desert tigerstripe on sale for eBay that are VERY similar to those shown in the above photos.
Perhaps they are even the same uniforms? I don't know who has contracting/production rights on the Iraqi uniforms, so I'm not sure...maybe someone who knows those details can shed some light?

This is like some weird cross between the USAF Trial ABU, an ACU shirt, a British UBACS shirt, and Tactical Tiger Stripe products. I would LOVE to get my hands on one of these if I ever had a chance.

Re: Iraqi marpat???
I think they look similar, but not the same. I dont think Tiger Stripe Products Desert Tiger Stripe has the dark brown in it, and I know Tru-spec doesnt cut their uniforms the way the one in that picture is
