P68 Smock Collection Empty P68 Smock Collection

    Post by af11111 Fri Feb 02, 2024 3:12 am

Hello all, first post here. I'd thought I'd post my P68 smock collection as a start. I hope you all enjoy the variation in patterns!
First is a 1982 Royal Engineers EOD P68, I think made by James Smith & Co

Here's another '82 James Smith & Co, twinning with the last, just no sleeve insignia

Getting into some older stuff now, here's a 1972 James Smith & Co with OD Zipper reinforcement

carrying on, my personal favorite - 1973 Cookson & Clegg. The button color and reddish brown is great.

Next, '73 James Smith & Co with lime green zipper reinforcement.

Tag is gone on this next one, but I'd guess its a 1973 or 1974 manufactured smock, lime green zipper reinforcement

'75 Clayton Street Mill with lime green zipper reinforcement, and corporal chevron

No tag on this one, but I'd guess its late 70s/early 80s. OD Zipper reinforcement.

I get the sense you like this style of jacket Very Happy

It's always great to see the variety of prints and how they responded to wash/wear conditions. I've always been partial to the lime green variants. Pastel colors please me!

The last one you pictured seems to be the predecessor to the P-84 "golden" pattern where the base color has quite a bit more yellow in it than most.

I guess i like them a little bit... maybe more than a little bit...

Indeed, the last one being super late is very similar to early p84 colors, which is really cool, and why I bought it! But still, like I said the '73 Cookson and Clegg is my absolute favorite. Colors aside, you can see where one of the previous owners pen burst in his front left breast pocket, and where it looks like someone tested a pen on it, for some reason. Just adds a bit of personality!
