Re: Identify jacket Russian?
Interesting. Well, for sure it is the style of a Soviet/Russian style winter coat. The buttons are from Soviet dress uniforms, including greatcoat. They were never used on combat items for obvious (shiny!) reasons. This would explain the lack of military stamps.
The three pocket configuration and exposed button flapped pockets indicates to me that this is either a purely commercial piece or it was made for a smaller force within a non defense related ministry. For example, prison guards, forest police, etc.
My guess is this is one of the many commercial pieces made by a former Soviet factory (not necessarily Russia) after the collapse of the Soviet Union. There were millions of the buttons available so they used what they had.
The cloth is very interesting. It could be from a rejected pattern from the many that were produced in the early 1990s. Interestingly the colors are very similar to Ukrainian uniforms at the time. This makes me think that it came out of Ukraine. Are there any markings or tags?

Re: Identify jacket Russian?
Hello Steve,
Thanks for your answer, unfortunately there is no tags inside!
I think certainly you are right, this is commercial jacket.
Thomas.

Re: Identify jacket Russian?
IMHO I also doubt that a Spetsnaz jacket would have this style of buttons. They look like from a M73 uniform.
Quality looks flimsy too.
