Until the woodland uniforms, the KL used combat hats of the American model. Now combat caps of the (originally) English " Crap Hat" model are also used.
why the KL switched to this other model I don't know?
If any of you can comment on that?

Here I have some pictures of my models.

The English MTP with earflaps. first images from exterior, then from interior.

Here Netherlands woodland DPM, I think these were used by the  Korps Mariniers?
double layer of tissue and earflaps, At what did the eyelet in front middle serve?

this might be a 59 or 60cm, If one has one like this in 61 or 62 please sent me a PM?

first images from exterior, then interior.

And here the latest new NFP pattern, made by Hassing, this is a very very light hat, single layer of tissue on top, as is indicated at the label, "summerversion"

Does that imply that there exist also a "winterversion"?

On the woodland DPM one, being pretty much a copy of the British Woodland DPM one, that eyelet in the centre of the front above the peak, would be for slotting in the slider on a cap badge.

A practice I've only ever seen photographic evidence of happening on the earlier British olive cold weather caps and desert khaki drill caps of the 1950's/1960's. I imagine it probably didn't get utilised much as very few ever got issued caps and hardly anyone with blacked out cap badges, and most people (as is the case today) prefer the bush hat with cut down brim in the field when not being made to sport a helmet or respective Corps/Regimental beret.

I personally prefer the cap, and if not being permitted to use that as preferred headdress when not in a helmet or beret because it upsets somebody on better wages than me, then the bush hat in full fresh out the packet combat sombrero mode.
