The 'MS' - Medical Service branch is interesting, I'm guessing some sort of medical specialist perhaps?

No mystery, looks like he was a pilot. Commissioned officers who fly medevac are Medical Service Corps not Aviation and, as such, wear the MSC branch insignia. Doesn't necessarily mean he's a medical specialist of some kind. I think the rules have changed, but when this BDU was worn pilots who flew medevac were MSC branch.

hahahaaaa...a little off topic, but, I think the most gung-ho guy I met was the battalion chaplain back in Germany. His chest cheese had a CIB and jump wings with Combat Jump! Great guy, wish I had his contact info as I'd love to get his Class A's.
