British DPM Arctic Windproof Smock Empty British DPM Arctic Windproof Smock

I have been scrounging for a DPM Windproof ever since I took an interest in DPM two years ago. My friend's dad has one like what I want, but that type is hard to find...many sellers carry the 95 or newer-issue ones, but not this one. I'm guessing it's the pre-95 issue, hence why it's not as common? It doesn't have the front rank slab or the "Canadian" style buttons. This is the closest I could find: (But even this one has the front rank tab)British DPM Arctic Windproof Smock Dpccs2na500a

    Cheers.

A number of years ago there was a surplus catalog in the US that sold these off cheap. I got one myself. The trousers, on the other hand, are a real problem to find. I did manage to land myself a set a few months ago.

The best advice I can give is to find a Brit collector still in Britain and ask reallllly nice for him to find you one Smile As I understand it there's still a lot of the 1980s kit lying about if one knows where to look.

    Good luck!

Thanks. I may just cave and buy the one I found. The only person I know with one won't give it up (trade or buy)! I scour eBay periodically to see what turns up and visit lots of Brit mil-surp websites often as well, it's just the steep shipping can be very off-putting. However, my searching will pay off eventually!

Yeah, my experience is Royal Post is the most expensive for their services of any European country. Add to that a generally poor exchange rate between the GBP and other currencies and it gets even worse. The last two boxes I had shipped from the UK came to me via DHL because it was cheaper.

Royal Mail can be expensive, but one can't deny its efficiency. I've yet to be disappointed with their service.
