Quite possible. Elite units are often the first to trial new gear. Pictures seem to show Land 125 not appearing in regular units on operations until early 2005.
What I find interesting in the series of pictures that the above frame came from is the variety of scopes and laser pointers utilised by individuals - the pic above shows the Australian developed Night Aiming Device (NAD) whereas others seem to employ the US AN/PEQ-2.
