COOL....it is exciting for me to see stuff from Austria....because the most that I have seen is basically the KAZ 59 dot pattern...which I have a parka & a pair of trousers in....and well the zeltbahn that I have a parka & boonie hat made out of.

Oooo... I like the boots! Are these fairly easy to get? Almost 7 days a week I wear the older 1970s/1980s leather version. I've even had the heels replaced because I wore them out Smile My most favorite and comfortable footwear!

BTW, that is a beautiful KAZ59 Panzer jacket you have. It looks brand new!

I'm waiting for the current temperate and desert uniform prices to come down before I invest. Austrian uniforms are some of the only non-camouflage items I care to collect. Spanish and German are the others.

    Cheers,

I would LOVE to figure out where to even get Austrian uniforms...as in the newer ones not the old "pea" pattern...

THANKS for the links guys....I bought one of the 2 sets the guy had...They don't have the zippers like Philip's pics above, so are they from the 80's or 90's?? any ideas? They appear to be some sort of button down..

steve(n), this is the old DA75 (Dienstanzug75 (still issued!)). our new uniform (KAZ03/Kampfanzug03) is not that easy to get.
i have never seen these "ranger boots" but i think it's an early issue of our Feldschuhe schwer.

The two types of boots that Sportsmans Guide have are nearly identical. I'd say the "Ranger" came with the KAZ 69 and the "Mountain" with KAZ 75. My daily footwear is the Mountain type and it's dated 1983. The primary differences appear to be how many pieces the uppers are made out of. Either way, pictures I've seen prior to KAZ 75 appear to be the same boot as after KAZ 75, so I'm pretty sure what I've just written is accurate.

BTW, I have a 1957 (or 1959? I forget) set of Austrian leather tanker boots. They are identical to the US style with multiple straps instead of laces. My size too Wink

I got my first set of Austrian mountain boots from the GJ HQ in Bregenz Austria, in 1999. Those have longs since been murdered by various trips and adventures but Ive never wore another issue type boot since..They are the best boots my feet ever used..
