the one patch looks to be the 16th Air Assault Brigade patch in subdued colours and if so...from what I am reading it would be either 2 Para or 3 Para ???

BUT according to Wikipedia ALL of the following are part of the 16th Air Assault Brigade.

    Current formation
16 Air Assault Brigade Headquarters and Signals Squadron (216 Parachute Signal Squadron)
1st Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment (27th (Inniskilling), 83rd, 87th & Ulster Defence Regiment)
    2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment
    3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment
Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland
7th (Parachute) Regiment Royal Horse Artillery
21 Air Assault Battery 47th Regiment Royal Artillery[2]
    3rd Regiment Army Air Corps
    4th Regiment Army Air Corps
    9th Regiment Army Air Corps
23 Regiment (Air Assault), Royal Engineers
7th Air Assault Battalion, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
13 Air Assault Support Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps
16 Medical Regiment, Royal Army Medical Corps
156 Provost Company, Royal Military Police
    Pathfinder Platoon

So maybe it is from a different unit that a Para Battalion?

Hi Steven, Ive seen that navy blue flag design somewhere before, the Commando dagger is the Royal Marine type and not the all arms type which is on a square background. Crossed swords normally indicates Physical Training Instructor but the swords are different and not on a design like this which looks like some sort of naval ensign (although the RN ensign is white)
anyhow gonna search some more and see what I come up with. Smile

I appreciate the info, It was a jacket I got several years ago for literally 2 cents...1 penny for the top & 1 penny for the trousers. the killer was the shipping... affraid because I bought 10 jackets & 10 trousers for 20 cents...but it was like $150 for the shipping... lol!

The second temperate Combat Soldier (CS) 95 uniform (British DPM) is 17 Port & Maritime Regiment Royal Logistic Corp RLC with an All Arms Commando Qualification badge and not the Royal Marines Commando badge. This soldier would have been based at either Marchwood Sea Mounting Centre (Port) or on an LST in UK, Cyprus or even Homg Kong before 1997.17
The role of the Regiment is to provide a port operating capability both in UK where the regt runs the Marchwood Sea Mounting Centre and on deployed operations. As part of normal port operations loading and unloading ships, 17 P&M also train and deploy seaman navigator trade personnel who man 6 Ramped Craft Logistic vessels, Landing Craft, workboats and Mexeflotes ship to shore (powered lighters).

On deployed operations 17 P&M work closely with RFA vessels and the Royal Marine Landing Craft Branch. In addition there is a permanent Port and Maritime detachment in the Falkland Islands which is manned on a rotational basis from members of 17 Port and Maritime Regiment. HIH
