French steel pot Empty French steel pot

Scored these pieces seperately. First the liner, which I had thought was USGI at first. But the shape was off in the very slightest way, along with the stampings inside led me to do further reasearch. It was then I discover that it was French made. Shortly there after, I saw the shell, and the chance to get it for dirt cheap, so I jumped on it. Now, I have what I believe to be a complete French lid from the "post war" period. Am I correct or way off base?

    Hello,
You are correct. A nice French M-51 helmet.
