A friend of mine got several of these in a large buyout he did a few years back. Don't know if the guy he got them from did this or some larger company like Sportsman's Guide or something did it. They are British DPM jackets dyed red. The red fades out to orange in the tan and green areas. I've even seen a couple witht he patches still on 'em. Done to try to get them to be more sellable to hunters.

Interesting colouration... would indeed be useful for hunting in the fall!

I wear it all the time. Just thought I'd show an update of how much it has faded and how cool the color is getting to be. It's now a tannish orange with the black, brown, and green showing more. It's become a staple of my nites out clubbin and campin.

When I was a kid about 15-20 years ago I brought some DPM trousers that had been dyed red from my local surplus market. They were labeled as "Canadian training trousers" but when I got them home I found a machine dye packet in one of the pockets Smile

Seeing your post made me remember those trousers, I wonder if it is just something that went around years ago to try and make them more saleable?!
