    Hi Guy's heres an F1 ( second series) from my collection.


    With the Salade,camo cover as standard,got this one from France and was a real bargain at the time, and personally I think the style and shape,is very cool. Smile

    looks great gary i prefer the tan side of the salade netting over the green i notice its held on by small brackets and string is this a standard fittment cheers james

    Hi James.

    Sorry for the delay, and yes the net is held on with small hooks which attach to the rim, and is a standard feature of French salade nets.

    ive often wondered where the french got there inspiration for the f1 design ,side by side i can see a ressemblance to the soviet ssh 39/40

    That's a really good point James, I'm really not sure, the F1 was an evolution of the M-51, which in turn was an evolution of the M1!!!

    I am biased but the F1 is my favourite shape in respect of steel lids, I would be very keen to find out more of the design of these lids, I believe Danois was responsible for testing prototypes, and it was introduced in '78.

    But yeah the side profile is kind of soviet in profile!!! Wink
