hi luis, the first shot is ww2 i think and it is portuguese - i had mistakenly a portuguese photo on my brazilian folder.. i meant to upload one form monte castello...
and here one of the earliest samples of brazilian spotted pattern. A brazilian marines reversible shirt, note the green is really faint, colors are almost the same for inside and outside (colors are definitely washed and faded, but the originals always had more subdue colors). this shirt is from mid 60's
Nice work Drmatz ..............very nice information and images , you have a good eye for this stuff. I just found a vintage Caalinga 4 pocket jacket cut like a US jungle jacket ........I do not see one here .so will that make it a rare jacket ?
hi owen, you are talking about the caatinga camouflage pattern, or the "leather suit"? either way both are rare, the US like cut is for the "combat" versions and the 2 pocket version is the garrison uniform. Thanks for your comments
some random pictures of army mountain, air force, navy commandos, caatinga troops a very unique sniper pattern i never seeing before... and a extremely rare urban lizard uniform.
yes, looks like it came straight from some G.I. JOE movie - im almost 100% sure is a private purchase, i don't think they actually issue those uniforms
here is a sample of the brazilian 1st jungle pattern
Nice finding there Gilles, that one you have where made in Rio de Janeiro, by Magalhães Sucupira. They used to be a big company with stores all over Rio, currently the have only few stores. I believe this one is late 80's early 90's.This pattern was in use for a very short period of time. Those Ones we traded where made in Sao Paulo
