Shell original and repainted by the previous owner in an (apparently) exact match to traces of the original paint-early/pre war so called Apple Green??

Liner band original early reinforced type with squared off chinstrap fittings. The leather itself baffles me to be honest as it isnt the usual red Norgi reline but has the larger non German size stamped into it plus not 100% sure about the regiment stamps on the underside of the liner leather either but still like it anyway.

All in all would say without checking that I have around 20 WW2 Stahlhelms, mix of repro and original but none unfortunately all original(way beyond my budget).

Also have 3 or 4 repro M38 Falschirmjager helmets as well.

Yep,the liner leather sure is a mystery to me.

    Cheers

Thanks James, believe it or not collect(and always have done) on a very very tight budget due to a fairly low paid job.

Started off many many moons ago only collecting headgear but got the bug and now unfortunately am into everything but seriously need to think about cutting down next year as its getting out of hand.

As I have stuff everywhere around the house in is pretty much impossible to get all my German helmets together but will try someday to get a group pic.

very nice m42 gulf im liking the camo paint thanks for showing ,yeah i am really pleased with otan and how it turned out ,i decided to go back to the old photobucket format it gives you the option if you dont like the new layout ,i cant help but see the similarities from the m42 to the b826 also i picked up a pasgt woodland cover but i believe it had been used for paint ball due to the extra colouration THE HELMET THREAD - Page 32 007-11THE HELMET THREAD - Page 32 005-15THE HELMET THREAD - Page 32 002-14THE HELMET THREAD - Page 32 001-17

    Same here.

Hmm,is it just a sign of getting old(er) as once I hit 40 I turned even more miserable and grumpy than I already was, thought life was supposed to start at 40!!!!
