M90 Uniform

Traditionally the main manufacturers for Swedish uniforms are in Tunisia and Sri Lanka. The "new" desert uniform is made in Poland.
To my knowledge (been in the Swedish armed forces on and of for 22 yrs now) there are no battle uniforms produced and bought from China...

The uniform above is, as you say, a reproduction. The issued will always have the M-number (NSN-number) and the Three Crowns.EVERYTHING is marked eith the Crowns. Even the airforces shiny new Beretta shotguns with engravings!

Thanks for the information! I've certainly seen Chinese factories advertising that they can produce Swedish M90 uniforms, but I've always assumed them to be fake.

I know that some uniforms are being sub contracted to China via European companies. In fact, I know a Chinese factory that was part of an official bid for producing Swedish and Finnish uniforms through a Romanian contractor with active military contracts (though I don't know with which countries). The contract did not succeed. Which is unfortunate for me because I was on a short list for "extras"

It's genuine! Correct tag, correct liner and the right "shine" that 90K stuff have before you start using it. After that it quickly starts to fade!

Actually, newer Swedish uniform are moving to China as their official supplier. see tag



And they also moving toward Germany and Poland, not really know why the shift but it does happen.

Of course there are some Chinese Factory keep on saying they are the "Official" Swedish Military uniform supplier but that was just plain lies.......

I have a few m90 sets here dated 1989 and I would like to know
if it has changed much from the one I have to the modern issue (material and cut)
oh if anyone has any modern one's for trade I'm very interested

That one is still being used by the Swedish Military. Just Swedish Military have different set of Uniform for different occasion.

I assume the newer one you mention means M90L.



THey are current issue, as far as I can make out, there are already 3 different generation for M90L, where the first generation is the same cutting as with any M90, the second generation is the same cutting as in the third, but without Velcro the third generation is the current issue as you see above.

I received a set of M90K Desert and was surprised to find significant color differences between jacket and trousers. Both pieces are used and probably came from the same soldier. Is there slightly different colors on some pieces or is this just because of fading/washing?

Both seems legit but I have never seen that big difference.
Could you please send pics of the labels!

For sure both pieces are genuine. Jacket is 2009 Chinese contract, the trousers are 2007 and I don't know who made it. I'll take some pictures tonight and post them. The big difference is in one color only, which is why I hesitate to say that washing had anything to do with this.

The ones with yellow label is without bug repellent (Permetrin), the blue label one has it. Maybe that has something to do with it. I´ve never seen or used the chineese ones.

Permetrin is forbidden for use inside the EU so you aren´t allowed to use the 90K in Sweden. Or at least wash it in Sweden. This is why all the old copies are burned after decomission.

I'd love to get a better matching set, but I'm not complaining much since I know it's rare to have anything

nice info... i have uniforms that were also made in indonesia and vietnam.. will post pics of labels later...
i thought the different colors on the tags meant the different sizes... so i learned something new

The old M/59 system was heavily manufactured by Albert Kempff in Tunisia ^^
