Re: Trial/Test pattern ?
I LOVE IT!!! That's because I don't have to look at a platoon of these in motion all at the same time. I think if that happened I would toss my cookies

Tadjikistan/ Afghanistan border
Russian soldier, I don't know the date
I think the first soldier wear the Uzbek border guard pattern, but I am not sure
And maybe the third soldier wear this Ukrainian pattern

Re: Trial/Test pattern ?
Here is the enlarged section of the soldier's uniform. I did not match the exact shapes of the pattern - but it sure looks like the Ukrainian experimental pattern.
Nice find on the uniforms and the photo, Gilles

Re: Trial/Test pattern ?
Hey guys,
check out my version of this camouflage :
I really love the colors of both examples shown in this thread, I feel somehow uncomfortable with my boring colored set.
Cheers,
Kolja

Ukraine test pattern set
Gilles,
Is your Ukraine test pattern set ventile? I saw a set off a Russian surplus shop that looks identical to what the 3 soldier is wearing. My friend in Russia advised that the set is nylon blend and that it does not hold up to extreme use. I am trying to get my friend to buy me a set of it so I can check it out firsthand. Bruce

Hello
I don't understand the word ventile
I think my set is 100% cotton
And it is very light material

Re: Trial/Test pattern ?
Wow, serving for 15 years in the Ukrainian Armed Forces I've never seen or heard of such uniform before. Eventhough it was produced in Kiev, it wasn't utilized by Ukrainian militaries. My gues that it is commercial pattern for builders, general workers, tourists and hunters.

Re: Trial/Test pattern ?
I think it is real military uniform (very rare). I have talk with a factories, thay told me - stamps on uniform only for military uniform. In Soviet Union was developed in 1980-91's by USSR military scientists - many different camo pattern.

Re: Trial/Test pattern ?
Could be, but, anyway - I signed up in 1996, since that time I've never seen anything like this pattern.
It could happen that this particular pattern was manufactured by Ukrainian enterprise for Russian market or any security forces other than the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
P.S. pardon my poor English, folks.
