Modified DBDU shirt from 1990. Rare piece I have seen very few "choc-pic" shirts with modifications.

Re: My DBDUs (choc-pic)
I have to admit that modified 6-Color jackets are extremely rare to find. I have been collecting modified jackets since 1998 or 1999, and can say that I have only run across a handful. I have several 6-Color modifieds in my collection and consider myself to be lucky have found those. The only rarer modifieds out there are the modified jungle jackets.

Re: My DBDUs (choc-pic)
first one makes me think USAF special operations; the others are VERY NICE! I wonder, even if they were dated to DS era, they might;ve been used in say, Somalia and similar climates by Special Forces and Operations? there are not many pictures of soldiers with the modified 6 colors, in any era....still..quite nice pieces you have!

Re: My DBDUs (choc-pic)
Thanks mates. Nkomo I followed your contributions to the forum and I really liked you modified shirt collection.
I'm collecting militaria since 2000-01 and I can assure that I can count on the fingers of one hand how many DBDU shirts I've seen that. I'm not a big fan of choc-pic camo but since I've seen pictures of SOF operators (most of them in Desert Storm) with this type of shirt now I give them more value. Seeing how rare they are maybe I should not have sold the second shirt..
I also think that the first shirt might belong to an AFSOC operator (PJ, CCT or STS). Velcro on the chest could be to put the USAF nametag as was so common in the time.

Thanks for the compliment, sir! Modifieds have always been a weakness of mine. Everyone I see, if the price is reasonable, comes home to my collection.
As to you selling your other modifed 6-Color.....OUCH!

Re: My DBDUs (choc-pic)
I got the shirt with badge. I have it for about 5-6 years and since then I have not seen any more.
Thanks for the info I had not noticed the shirt detail but the black shield could also be a patch.
I have some SEAL badges with the eagle in black in color:

What Merc means is that you should also post them on the OEF/OIF forums as well.

Re: My DBDUs (choc-pic)
Special operations forces, mostly U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Special Forces, have been deployed in many countries during the 80's and early 90's to the advisory task of allied armies (Egypt, Jordan, Chad, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc). I think some of these changes were made in theater or in the states before deployment by local tailors. I wish I could say that these shirts were used during the Desert Storm or Restore Hope but I fear that we will never know us.
I was a poor ignorant with a little luck and then I have no refpics wearing these shirts.. I thought were never used, just fantasy

Re: My DBDUs (choc-pic)
You should re-post them in OEF/OIF forum for future reference. Cheers.
