US Airborne M1 Helmet+Liner--MACV Military Police??

Making NO claims whatsoever regarding the authenticity of the paintwork-thats how it came to me.

Liner appears to be dated 1967,Nape 1972. chincup is a NOS item bought by myself as originally it was missing.

Is the liner Firestone manafactured if so that would tally with the date

Didnt check im afraid(or check the sweatband date) and its now gone back into storage

It was bought as a bog std Nam Abn M1 so not bothered either way if the paintwork is legit to be honest as it usually has a Mitchell cover on it anyway

That is a rather sloppy hand paint job. Would bet it's not original!
Also I don't think I ever heard of any MAC-V MP unit. There were a couple of MP Bdes in ocuntry that handled all that stuff, 18th for one.

Sloppy,you should see another MP liner i have that i know is original

Well you're 1 up on me. I've never seen an original - in use - MP helmet liner or helmet that was slopily hand painted. I'll have to ask a friend what he saw - he was in the 18th MP Brigade.
But be that as it may - I never saw, or heard of, a MAC-V MP in Viet Nam. I think that helmet is a fantisy piece.
