    Making NO claims whatsoever regarding the authenticity of the paintwork-thats how it came to me.

    Liner appears to be dated 1967,Nape 1972. chincup is a NOS item bought by myself as originally it was missing.

    That is a rather sloppy hand paint job. Would bet it's not original!
    Also I don't think I ever heard of any MAC-V MP unit. There were a couple of MP Bdes in ocuntry that handled all that stuff, 18th for one.

    Well you're 1 up on me. I've never seen an original - in use - MP helmet liner or helmet that was slopily hand painted. I'll have to ask a friend what he saw - he was in the 18th MP Brigade.
    But be that as it may - I never saw, or heard of, a MAC-V MP in Viet Nam. I think that helmet is a fantisy piece.
