got this a while ago for a couple of quid, label just states Field Pack DPM but i have a sneaky feeling its an ECM carrier, when i got it (without the side pouches) it was covered in sand and dried mud with more inside, im assuming Iraq/early Afghanistan use?

Yes. It's ECM Pack. First version. Brits used this before DDPM version in Iraqi and Afghan.
