A few years these were ten a penny and quite cheap but now days bloody Airsofters are trashing them trying to convert them into naff looking Airborne helmets Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

This one i am glad to say is in 100% untouched condition and while it isnt the rare early one with screw in liner this one has a LTD liner but is dated 1945(cannot remover the liner to check shell markings).

Paintwork is also original WW2 textured brown.

This type of helmet remained unchanged(apart from different liners and chinstraps) and was issued up to the mid 80s as an RAC,RN and Royal Marines Helmet.

VERY cool lid Rich, pity you can't you make out any stamps inside the shell mate,it would be interesting to see which era/ model it is.

If a stamp can be made out it would be above the liner sweat band area!!!

Yep,my guess is that the shell would be dated 1945 and made by ROCO as most of these were.

No idea why the liner wont budge but dont want to force the LTD.

Within the same week i scored another RAC lid-later with the sock type liner but never seen one of these in that the shell started out as a Despatch Riders shell and was officially then converted to RAC spec-bizarre Shocked

    Hi Scott
I was aware of the Canadians converting RAC and DR helmets to para helmets ehen the Canadians converted the rac helmets they replaced the liners with para liners, allso the Rhodesians converted RAC helmets to para helmets but they did not replace the liners but Riveted hangers to attach a South African para helmet chinstrap the picture is of a Rhodesian conversion I wish that I owned this helmet and i hope the saint dont mind me lifting the picture.
I did'nt know that the Israelies converted RAC helmets was the liner replaced in your example I look forward to seeing your pitures.

The liner was replaced with a apra liner, and it has the yellow crumbly rubber around it, but the reason I believe it is Israeli is the rivet in the top to hold the top pad. I am guessing the Canadians used bolts?
