One thing for sure, this piece appears to be home-made. I just recently bought this off of Ebay from a seller in Ohio. He claimed that it was a Bosnian made vest. He got it directly from Belgrade, Serbia and was supposedly captured during that nasty little civil war they had over there.
Anyway, this vest is attached to a US ALICE belt. I don;t think that is correct, but that is the way I got it. When I first saw this vest, I thought the lower pockets were for an AKM magazine. When the vest arrived, the pockets were much too small to hold anything much bigger than a pistol magazine. The vest even has a place for a knife or machete on the back side. Has anyone ever seen a vest like this before? Can anyone verify that this was used by the Bosnians?
The vest is sewn together with white thread. The owner has taken a black permanent marker and has outlined all the areas where the white thread can be seen. Very odd.
