    My theory ( based on experience) would be a LED/ IR light.

    I've seen some non-US soldiers thread their mikes through their epaulets, so as to be closer to their mouths. Figured the loop on this jacket might be something more customized for that purpose.

    I doubt it would be for a prr mic, perhaps as a cable tidy though because somtimes that wire can flop about and get in the way? A camelbak is plausable but after that im stumped!
