This O'Coat belonged to Maj. R.B. Reppa. It is one of two that I found-- the second (which was in better condition, and still had a liner) went to my dad because... I figured he'd like it. The second *also* had Major Reppa's vitals written in it, but I have since lost the paper I wrote that information down on. I believe he was at Div. HQ, for the 3rd Army, but I could be mistaken.
These aren't too rare, nor are they very expensive-- but they're a work of art when it comes to their construction. I'm especially surprised that the bakelite buttons have survived all of these years (though they're starting to show the strain).
The next item is also not particularly rare, but... I didn't know that they existed until I found this one:
MOUNTAIN! Yep, the leather is cracked, and there's a tear on one side-- but the mere fact that it persevered for as long as it did is remarkable. Besides, all you ever see in movies are haversacks.
And the last little bit of my small (but not undignified) collection is this:
Mr. M. Vann's M1. No idea about Mr. Vann's rank, or history, but one presumes he survived. That is all that matters.
Front seam...
Fixed bail.
Liner is tore-up, but you can't have everything, can you?
Cheers!
