Middle Eastern Tunic-Libya,Iraq??

Anybody please got any ideas on what country and organisation this could be?

my feeling is that is either iraqi, or syrian... don't remember seeing the "eagle" in libyan items, but could be wrong... interesting bullion patch.

LIBYAN, this was the eagle before gaddafi switched it again to the solid green shield.

The eagle was used once Gaddafi got into power of Libya so from 1969 until 1972 I believe ( 3 years) this eagle was used until it was changed again then again. I hope this helps!

Keep in mind that these eagle symbols can be VERY confusing. During the failed attempt at a political pan-Arab caliphate many Arab nations adopted similar symbols. Egypt, Syria, and Iraq also maintained them long after the movement fell apart. Yemen, Sudan, and others have similar coats of arms. It can be very confusing because the details on things like buttons are very hard to spot sometimes.

But I agree, this looks to be Libyan, despite me originally thinking it was Syrian. I forgot they maintain 2 stars on their shield, Iraq 3. Again, very confusing!
