Flippin' eck Delta, that is some UN/Peacekeepers collection...love it Mate.

I find in particularly interesting that the NZ forces used the Brit UN Blue CBA vest,I would have assumed there would have a local version in place,so that's cool as Learned something new again Wink

Cheers mate! I have more UN/Peace Keeper stuff, but it's packed away. Sad

The CBA Vest came to me with the Timor stuff. I am not aware of a Kiwi made vest, so I think that Kiwi's grabbed or were issued with whatever they could get.

It seems to be a time honored tradition with Kiwi soldiers, to "Acquire" or trade kit, which they don't seem to have ...Not so much Nicking kit, but "Borrowing" it... Rolling Eyes

I had a WWII Kiwi LRDG veteran tell me chuckling to himself, (and I quote verbatim) "The only people more adept at borrowing stuff that we needed than the Wogs, was us kiwis!"

He told me how they actually uplifted whole tents (and I mean several large tents...) from British base camps and drove out the front gate with them in the backs of their trucks before anybody noticed what they were up to!

A friend of my dads who served in Vietnam, told me similar tales of "Borrowing" kit off the Aussies and Yanks when they were not looking... Lol

No worries Mate, it's always great to see large collections like this. When you did the rest out I'd be keen to see the rest!!

Re: The CBA source makes sense, and love the Kiwi style of accruing kit, that show's real initiative Laughing

Cheers for that, good to know.

The UNPROFOR & UN Bosnia Patch came with this uniform as well. Do you know if they were worn by Kiwi's during that deployment perhaps?

Maybe He just "Aquired" it... LoL Laughing

Nice the suspenders are pre Timor but possibly worn Batt 1 were the first guys issued Dpm webbing and they pretty anal about uniformity.

Dpms are good the colour are well washed out from the sun and the washing machines in the rear for those who used them

UN hat is a maybe more likely issue cheap general issue berets only used on parades rear area wear.

The j hat is from 2/1st trip to Aussie in 96 issued only for the deployment as the CO had a flash one and we got these bad boys.

CBA vest is Brit cover our guys in Bos had better Bristol armour then the Brits used again for Timor

Dan where did you get the Batt2 plauque with the newer B coy badge have you got the reunion coin?
