    What is the opening in the back for?The answer eludes me confused

    Got this a while back at a yard sale and am just now able to post it.Very nice coat,extremely comfortable.

    You know it!I do not see to many of the nomex flight jackets,much less a decked out one.

    Yep. The grab-hatch on the back is something I have not seen on a jacket, nor anything outside of Cvc gear-- and although I do have a nomex aircrew jacket (which is just a lopped flight suit)- there's no insulation in mine. Not like this. I've been around. This is unique-- well done!

    Thank you,that is good to hear!You mentioned a grab hatch.What is that for?Is that so you can be pulled form the vehicle in case of emergency or something?

    That's not a flight jacket.

    It's an armored vehicle crewman jacket.

    The back slot is for pulling an injured tanker out of a hatch.

    Now you need the following CVC designated items:
    -Helmet
    -Overall suit
    -Body armor
    -Balaclava
    -Gloves
    -Boots
