Re: Combat Jacket/Shirt.
So it is military issue and not civilian?
The label looks civvy and no mention of size, care instructions etc

Re: Combat Jacket/Shirt.
It's the Transkei pattern; I have one exactly like it, right down to the label. Not sure if civilian or military, though.
Perhas one of our resident African militaria wizards can shed some light on it.

Re: Combat Jacket/Shirt.
Rich,My reckoning is that it is Military issue, made by a commercial manufacturer ,this would appear to be the case with Transkie kit. Mines made by Dux uniforms.

Used to have a shirt in the same cammo many moons ago that from memory was also made by DUX.

Re: Combat Jacket/Shirt.
Legitimate Transkei Defense Forces issue. Many of the uniforms made for the various Homelands were from small commercial manufacturers. Few of them display what we would consider "proper" contract tags. Remember, the Homelands Defense Forces were quite small, numbering only a couple thousand personnel for each Homeland. As such, uniform contracts were awarded to all sorts of small companies.
