New Polish uniforms - wz.2010

Ok, on April 25 2012 Minister of Defence signed decision on introduction of new uniform, wz.2010. The camo pattern is an ole, good "pantera" in woodland and desert variants, and there will be 4 types of uniform:
123UP/MON - Ubior Polowy, Field Uniform, fabric US-22/1 (twill, 50% cotton 50% polyester, 255 g/m², woodland);
123UL/MON - Ubior Polowy Letni, Summer Field Uniform, fabric US-21 (ripstop, 83% cotton 17% polyester, 190 g/m², woodland);
123UT/MON - Ubiór Polowy Tropikalny Letni, Tropical Summer Field Uniform, fabric US-21 in desert camo;
123SP/MON - Ubior Specjalny, flame-resistant fabric (50% Kermel i 50% Rayon - no mention of camo.

Cool, thanks for the update - looks interesting.

Ooo... more things to collect I'm surprised to see Poland being one of the first nations to follow the United States' standard use of fire retardant uniforms. Even Germany, which has been experimenting with such uniforms since 1984, still issue a non-FT uniform as standard kit.

Ok, I will try to translate some parts of the article.

The authors of blog consider version 123UP/MON an unnecessary complication, in their opinion the rip-stop fabric and different underwear and "overwear" (similar to PCU) would be much more adequate.

The jacket is similar to ACU, but has some original features. The lack of lower pockets makes it more comfortable while put inside of pants (new approach in Polish uniforms), the sleeves are connected with body by broad pleads, that makes movement of arms much more convenient. There are two, angle-sewn chest pockets, two arm pocket and one pen pocket on left sleeve. The chest pockets have bigger capacity and are easier to open then ACU, as the velcro straps are divided (there is space between straps). There are loops sewn into chest pockets, in order to attach compass or similar items. The arm pockets have vertical zipper closure and lightstick attachments and large panels of velcro mesh; the pen pockets has two compartments (big and small), can store a lightstick and has a big flap. There are special pockets for elbow protectors and ventilation holes (almost uneffective, the Heatcoat net would be much better).

The jacket has four covered buttons and velcro straps - buttons are considered easier to maintain or repair and much cheaper than good zipper. Collar is too high and thus uncomfortable.

The pants are relatively simple, with only four pockets. The tight pockets have velcro closures (buttons would be better) and big capacity. All the belt loops have D-rings, that is strange as there are no rear pockets.

Thread resurrection time.
Picked these up as a set at the Malvern Militaria fair a few weeks back. Both the Jacket and Trousers are WZ 2010 style but on closer examination I realised that I had bought the Temperate weight Jacket but a summer weight trouser.
The Belt,Knee and elbow pads and polish flag(need a second one and badges,rank,etc) came as standard.
Anyway I decided to take some photos of the features of both.I will start with the jacket.
