    Got this in the other day but dont know enough about Tiger stripe to say if its original or post war manufactured.Can you give your opinion and market value if good on it

    Gut instinct is someone cut up a real shirt and made a new beret. The lining and sweatband don't look right.

    Yep, definately a made up item, the only question is when? It doesn't look like it has ever been worn either.
    We had tiger stripe berets for the Montgnards, but they did not have any sort of liner. I've got one around here somewhere that I sent home.

    Berets will usually go for more than a shirt. If a shirt is damaged or even such a small size that its value would be undermined, the less scrupulous individual can cut it up and get a number of berets made out of it. Simple economics ... and dirty.
